Hello Douglis, Sure thing you can do with your Makita tools. I do not really trust corporations, but technologies. As far as i know Panasonic 3.3Ah batteries kick arses of any other brand. Make your choice!. By the way Makita is pretty good with their Radios. In my opinion Makitas Radios are best! :) That will be my next purchase - The Makita entertaining Panasonic users! :))))
Please read my article about choosing cordless tool. Here it is: http://www.oztools.com/how-to-choose-a-cordless-drill-or-impact-driver-177.html

Yes True Alex.

I guess what i meant is, in terms of marketing panasonic are a bit behind.

In quality they are ten times in front of any bunnings tool. No comparison. Bunnings sent GMC broke through selling tradies junk then trying to return them to the manufacturer.

We only recommend Dewalt, Makita Hitachi and Bosch.(not parallel imported, only aussie tools) With no rebates and low incentives other brands(milwakee, panasonic etc) are not worth it.

Cheers

Hi Alex,
Douglis J here again I followed your advice on the Panasonic and to be honest im dissapointed the power and battery life maybe Panasonic should stick to making TV's. Maybe a company I can trust such as Makita would have been a better option ?

Hi Douglis J,
Could you be more descriptive about HkAA560. Google come with no results on "HkAA560"...
But got to tell you that i have done very extensive research before i have spend 700 dollars on my drill.
Main things to consider is:
1. Quality - How long will it work for you. Panasonic is a very reputable company for high quality tools.
2. Battery capacity - Must run for 8 hours and full charge should take no longer then 60 minutes.
3. The weight of the tool. - Have to consider above as longer lusting battery usually weight more. It is a big difference between 1.5 kilo and 2.5kg, if you have to waving with it for 8 hours(do not know why De-Walt do not get it).
4. Price - Have to be affordable. Meaning - No one need a Drill with a cover made out of gold or pretend to be.
5. Have to be from local company. So if shit happens - you do know where to take it back.

That is in short of what i was looking for.

Robby,
Just visit any construction site and you will see that most of the cowboys there using Ryobi or Makita(both - Bunnings supper-sale).
However, real Profy came with the tools which will serve him at least a day without recharge.
Panasonic - provides unexpansive solution where drill goes for 2 working days without recharge.
All of us also know that brand is does not matter, as long as it provides value for money and expectation.
Again, Panasonic 14V 3.3Ah Drill is a way above any of the same level Bunnings offers in this regards.

When it comes to main stream power tools they don't really compete. Just walk into any power tool store and see what they promote- Makita, Dewalt, Hitachi and Bosch.
Not panasonic.
One of the biggest flaws is they are more expensive with little incentive for the retail store to sell them let alone even stock them.

Just take a look at the next tv ad or brochure or home reno show....

I guess power tools is something in which they provide a good product with no marketing.

Robby, Panasonic is a long term leader in battery technology. Also, Panasonic is a first in developing cordless Drill. As a shop owner you should know such things.
Here is a link for you:

Actually, I can confirm the test.
The job was mounting furniture items to the walls.
Was using Panasonic 3.3Ah drill and driver.
Both of them been going hard for two days on 2(two batteries) from 7AM till 5PM without recharge. Batteries gone flat in 15 minutes apart. On the following day recharge took only 30-45minutes for each battery.
Anyway:
For one room. (Marking was done by pre-drilling 1.8mm bit)
2 robe hooks - mark-drill through 5mm- screw wall mates in- screw item in
4 mirrow - mark-drill through 5mm- screw wall mates in- screw item in
8 pinboards - mark-drill through 5mm- screw wall mates in- screw item in
6 shelf - mark-drill through 5mm- screw wall mates in- screw item in
9 bed boards - mark-drill through 5mm- screw wall mates in- screw item in
2 wardrobe - mark-drill through 5mm- screw wall mates in- screw item in

8 Rooms a day
Do the math

Have to mention that we have had a 18V drill from bannings which operated counter sinker for 10 holes in the rooms. That drill was flat every several hours. No match to PRO cordless at all.
